Key Responsibilities / Deliverables:
To promote sites through the planning process and secure planning consent including the discharge of planning conditions to enable construction to start.
To undertake all tasks necessary to successfully promote sites through the planning system, including the preparation of masterplans/site layouts, Environmental Statements, attendance at public meetings/exhibitions, networking, preparation of all work associated with submitting a planning application, planning appeal work and local plan inquiry procedures.
Working closely with colleagues to manage and develop the Company’s strategic land bank.
To provide a Company view/representations on development plans and all relevant planning legislation and guidance as appropriate.
To undertake a number of Planning Studies each year to identify potential sites, with reference to location, market considerations, infrastructure provision, planning prospects, land ownership patterns and the views of other relevant professionals (agents etc.)
To instruct both internal staff and external consultants to prepare master plans, site layouts etc., which have realistic planning prospects, to assist in securing planning consent.
To prepare budgets for development options and to contribute towards the Company’s objective of increasing profitability.
To provide expert knowledge on current government legislation and planning policy/advice.
To manage the Company’s owned and option land, including the production of a locational strategy for the identification of sites, and keeping landowners informed as to site progress.
Carefully manage the Region’s major live projects including all development control, planning and S106 obligations along with stakeholder liaison.
